Prairie Island
Site Information
Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant has two PWR units, located in southeastern Minnesota, 47 miles southeast of Minneapolis.
The site is owned and operated by Xcel Energy. The units were put into service in 1973 and 1974 and generate 1,041 MW.

- Fill out and send in PHQ ASAP.
- With a few exceptions we will work 7 to 7 during the outage.
- We will work 8 hour days during training with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch. Plant staff is working on roll on schedule now.
- We wear yellow hard hats here and they will be provided, please bring gloves and safety glasses with you.
- Steel or composite toed shoes are required.
